Welcome to Narragansett, Rhode Island
Located in South County Rhode Island, and having some of the best public and private beaches in the Northeast, Narragansett is both a year-round oceanside community as well as a favorite summer tourist destination.
Narragansett is rich in history and is one of New England’s first seaside retreats since the 1800’s. Originally, a playground for the rich and famous, containing casinos and hotels on the waterfront, a devasting fire changed the landscape in the early 20th century and led to residential home development. Some of the original buildings remain today including the famous “Towers” and the Coast Guard House.
Narragansett is known for its famous town beach which boasts one of the finest surfing beaches in the U.S. It also has 3 beautiful state beaches: Scarborough, Roger Wheeler and Salty Brine.
There are also world class fishing opportunities whether in your own boat, charter, or party boat from the fishing port of Galilee and Point Judith Pond for
gathering your favorite shellfish.
Restaurants abound in Narragansett and nearby, whether it is a seafood shack or a 5 star restaurant: or if you want more adventure, take the 45 minute ferry to Block Island out of Galilee!
